Fresh Courage Journal
It’s so easy to forget God’s faithfulness and this, I believe is one of our greatest reasons for fear. We forget that God has already proven Himself faithful and worthy of our trust.
What if God’s past faithfulness gave us fresh courage? When fear and worry start inching their way into your heart, we can combat that with the truth that God has been faithful. Psalm 143:5 says “I remember the days of all; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands.” And the commentary in my Study Bible? “Being at the end of his strength need not mean that he gives up; if he can remember the days of old, he can have fresh courage to stretch out his hands to God. The weary soul thirsts for God as its source of energy.”
This is how we banish fear: To meditate on God’s past faithfulness.
